Why is Russia losing its war? Since the start of Russia’s invasion, Ukrainian troops have stood their ground and even retaken territory against the odds. A major reason for this is American firepower and training. The US has flooded Ukraine with high-tech weaponry that Russia just can’t keep up with. Among these are Javelin missiles, responsible for destroying many of Russia’s tanks. There is also the NASAMS system for helicopters, drones, or missiles, and the HIMARS system, a multi-rocket launcher that has devastated Russian artillery. Ukraine has also received “kamikaze” drones like the Switchblade and Phoenix Ghost, which can be remote-controlled to dive-bomb Russian positions. All these weapons have been bad news for Russia, which has lost over 100,000 soldiers in 10 months. But will these weapons ultimately be what wins the war for Ukraine?
