Palletrone: A Flying Robot Cart That You Can Control with Your Hands

Researchers from Seoul National University of Science and Technology in Korea have created a new flying robot cart called Palletrone. It is designed to help people move small cargo easily, especially in places where wheels don’t work well, like stairs or rough floors.

Palletrone looks like a box with a flat top to place cargo and a handle at the back like a shopping cart. It uses eight motors (four propellers and four servo motors) to fly and move in all directions. You can control it just by pushing or pulling the handle. It stays level while flying, so cargo doesn’t fall off.

The drone uses smart sensors and a simple control system to know when you’re guiding it or when the cargo is shifting. Even if the top is fully covered, it still flies with only 5% power loss.

Right now, it can carry about 3 kilograms (6.6 pounds). It’s useful for indoor places like malls or factories and could also be used as a flying camera stand. In the future, it might carry heavier loads and work outdoors too. Palletrone shows how robots and humans can work together to make tasks easier.
