  1. The bulk of the Kurdish area is in Turkey and Iraq, with small regions of Syria and Iran that are Kurdish. They deserve to form an Independent Country. The Kurdiash language has a significant number of Urdu words, and Customs also match those prevalent in Pakistan.

  8. Solid analysis on sanctions, reserves, and the economic gap between India and Pakistan but Mr. Sethi missed the deeper structural dysfunction that’s holding Pakistan back.

Yes, both countries have parliamentary systems. But India has decentralized power, built stronger local governance, and invested in anti-corruption tools. Its judiciary is far more functional, and its institutions while imperfect are responsive. That’s why India’s economy keeps growing and attracting investment.

Pakistan, meanwhile, is stuck in a feudal-provincial power trap. The 18th Amendment stripped the federal government of oversight, leaving provinces bloated with useless departments and unchecked spending. Bureaucracy is mostly performative. MPAs fight over development funds not to serve the public, but to secure kickbacks, launch ghost projects, and enrich their circles.

And now, Punjab and parts of KPK are underwater again flooded, devastated and no one’s accountable. The federal government blames provinces, provinces blame districts, and districts shrug. It’s the same story every year. No dams. No water diversion systems. No rainwater harvesting. No urban drainage planning. Just millions lost in property damage, economic disruption, and public misery.

There’s no task force, no emergency response worth mentioning. Development funds meant for resilience are smuggled out of the country, while citizens drown literally and economically.

If Pakistan wants to break this cycle, it needs to devolve real power to cities and districts, cut the fat, and build a service-driven governance model. That alone could save trillions, restore public trust, and finally make Pakistan investable not just survivable.
