Downed Russian drone: A test for NATO’s defense capabilities | DW News

Russia’s war on Ukraine has come closer to spilling over into neighboring Poland, after multiple drones crossed into Polish airspace and were shot down by NATO forces. Some damage was caused by falling debris, but there are no reported casualties. Russia’s defense ministry denies targeting Poland, while several European leaders say it was a deliberate provocation.

  1. Unfortunately, using missiles and jet fighters to defend against drones is not a win even if you downed them all which they didn't… We need less expensive means to defend against drones and we need to manufacture and deploy a lot of them.

  2. So all Putin has to do to distract Trump is to assassinate MAGA representatives, that's a price Putin can afford to pay since it also has a very dividing effect on USA since MAGA automatically blames immigrants or left side for anything they don't like. Trump crashing the US economy for the middle class and down should make it easy for Putin to recruit poor people in desperate need of money willing to do whatever for the right price. Relying on the US for security has become a dangerous gamble for Europe, Europe needs to stay focused and united while we strenghten our defences.

  3. NATO got to do something regardless for their reputation and existence and act fast. After all these years, u know Putin, don’t pretend u don’t. Finland should be scared the heck out of themselves by now.

  4. Só, everyone BUT actual polish news mention a purpose, because it's not in your country, I'm here, everyone here has proof that :
    1. That roof was taken out by storms a few months ago!
    2. The drones have a limit of 300 km without payload, and 150 with, and that places them being sent in Ukraine (that has to gain from NATO being provoked)
Don't believe me search online pictures of where the last drone lost contact with emiter/controller and fell down naturally.
    3. I see a lot of videos from everyone but polish medias or government officials, just the first video from the day it happened.
    4. Everyone is so trigger happy, why don't you start actions , Kaliningrad is right there next to the sea, you can go bite him and risk YOUR countries! Staying hidding there in the corners sounds like a good place to bark loud!

  5. It looks like they are doing it to give a justification of NATO military spending increase. Meaning that they are playing here, Russia will never be able to fight NATO, still with these attacks it helps NATO to ask and speed on the defence cost and implementation. So NATO and Russia(Putin&company) are just joking with us, they just want to play the war game with our money 🎭🤡🎭

  6. Nothing is gonna happen. It's happened many times. It's mostly Russia avoiding AA guns north in Ukraine as sumy is often hit with glide bombers and drones. Not saying violating the air space is a good thing, but I'm sure they know that's the case but will play it out for media and eventually do nothing

  7. Sounds like the answers given to questions asked only serve the purpose of asking more questions to which further answers are expected to evade less, there would be no career for young bright students should graduate n' aspire to!. Right?!. 😅…
