Brilliant as always mate. Seen another video of Mini 5 Pro and the weight is just over 250g…. Does this mean its restricted to only fly in certain areas, unlike Pro 4 can be flown anywhere?
Thanks Ian for the guidance 👍 Concerns are arising from other sources about the weight issue with the MP.5 Should this be a concern? Some have weighed it in at 252g. The classes of drones are due to be evaluated soon in the UK. I would appreciate your take on this as I’m hesitant to upgrade just at the present time. Thanks 👍
What about the RC-N2 from the Mini 4 Pro?

No way I’d buy either controller attached to these drones. Even the remote 2 is far too dim, and phones become dim when they heat up.
Why won't DJI sell a drone without the Remote?
I know it makes business sense to sell a remote with a drone, but you can only fly one at a time and it would reduce landfill if you already have a suitable remote.
Heard any whispers about Goggles support coming soon ? They seem to have forgotten about the Goggles N3 release as they've never updated it beyond the Neo and Avata 2. Hoping against hope that they might bring in consistency across their O4/O4+ fleet with the two Goggles now the Mini 5 is out.
Yes Ian that was a bit tricky, but also unless you've found out for yourself already, the Dji Assistant app needs to be updated, you need to download the latest version because when I tried to use it, it said it didn't recognize this model of Drone (Dji Mini 5 Pro) and prompted me to download the latest version but this is where it gets tricky, the latest version is also called Dji Assistant 2 but dated 05/09/2025, in any case I went ahead and downloaded that version and when I launched it, it finally recognised the Mini 5 Pro and told me it had a wrong firmware version and prompted me to update it, which it did pretty quick. Hope that is helpful and if you already knew that, then silly old me. Cheers
P.s.: regarding the weigth of the drone exceeding the 249gr, have you noticed that on this model the batteries do not say Ultra Light 249gr anymore? It doesn't even say anywhere on the box!

Hi ian do you need to bind on every swap between dones
My RC2 Pro would not connect to the Mini 5 to start with. I had to connect to the drone with the supplied controller in order to update the drone to a newer firmware version which then allowed me to connect the RC2 Pro. Hope this save someone time with the same issue!

I am sticking with mini 4 pro with RC 2 until the new year when please do a video on which DJI drones I can upgrade to within the same flight envelope as I have now❤
Shame there isnt an option to buy the Mini 5 Pro that has the RC2 Pro 2 controller.
