The DJI Drone Ban is happening — and this Late 2025 update breaks down everything you need to know. New Trump administration regulations, massive tariffs, and stalled national security reviews are all combining to lock DJI out of the U.S. market.

Most people think this is still “up in the air,” but the truth is the ban is already unfolding. Imports are tightening, supply chains are cracking, and the December deadline looms large. If you rely on DJI for work, safety, or creative projects, now is the time to prepare.

  1. I have 2 Air 3's (both activated) and an unboxed Air 3S. Since I can't get Care Refresh for it anyway, would it make sense to unbox the Air 3S and activate it in case activation gets "deactivated" at some point? Is that even a possibility that could happen?

  2. Someone tell these companies regulatory capture only works if there are companies to replace the drones they are trying to ban! It’s ridiculous how dumb the government is. We will be a lot weaker militarily if they ban dji drones. So pretty ridiculous just watch ukraine they are winning because of drones. Every soldier should have one

  3. Don't worry, the government is supporting the hobbyist community which has been so vital to development of drone tech especially for FPV, and that will be crucial if we are ever to catch up. Oh wait, I forgot, they are trying to make legal flying practically impossible and kill the hobby

  4. American Drone manufacturers are WAY behind the curve. They need a boost. Banning DJI sales would provide that boost. However, it would totally kill the recreational market as American drones would be out of our price range. I bought a M2P back in 2019. That was pretty pricey for me then.

  5. Isn't the US against communism?

If so, why is enacting so many regulations to deny it's people access to any and all of the good stuff, you know, like communist countries.

  6. American companies that create inferior drones pushing for this, meanwhile they’re fine with China buying up property and land especially near military bases. America is dumb.

  7. So what's stopping us from dismantling a drone design and producing the parts ourselves using 3-D printing? I mean if we can't get the parts from China and we need the parts and there's no parts available well then your hands are tied. I'm not gonna stop flying my drone because they decided tomake a certain country or two illegal. If we have to make it ourselves or even have a company that produces the parts ourselves then I can't see why not.
