Air Force Two landed in Phoenix with Vice President JD Vance, Charlie Kirk’s casket and Kirk’s family aboard after flying in from Utah on September 11, 2025. This happened one day after the Turning Point USA co-founder was assassinated during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
Air Force Two arrived in Phoenix at about 4:40 p.m. with Vice President JD Vance and Kirk’s family aboard after flying in from Utah, according to NBC News. Several supporters were seen outside the airport with American flags and patriotic hats to honor Kirk.
“Welcome home, Charlie. You didn’t deserve it. May God bless your family,” an unknown voice said on the air traffic control tower frequency after Air Force Two landed.
A motorcade took Kirk’s remains from the airport to a Phoenix funeral home.
