What Drone Camera Can Do This – a Rotating Gimbal
The Mavic 4 Pro has been released and is without doubt the new benchmark for consumer drones with numerous new features like a rotating gimbal and shooting full frame vertical imagery to name a few.
No other drone comes remotely close to the Mavic 4 Pro for capabilities and features in a consumer drone.
However a “rotating camera gimbal” is not ground breaking or unique to the Mavic 4 Pro.
Back in 2021, Autel Robotics released the LITE drone which features a “rotating camera gimbal” and can also rotate the camera to vertical for full frame image capture.
The Lite is no longer in production.
This video footage is from the Autel Lite.
As a side note, DJI’s Mini 4 Pro is also able to rotate the camera to vertical only for full frame image capture. It does not have a rotating camera gimbal.
The Autel Lite has a –
# RYYB colour filter with 0.8″ (1/1.28) camera sensor,
# 4 axis gimbal, with capabilities of –
vertical imagery (for TikTok & Instagram), and
rotating camera 360° or 720° for video captures,
# 35 minute real flight time,
# intelligent flight modes,
# dynamic tracking.
The RYYB colour filter obtains 30 to 40% more light, has superior dynamic range and more image detail than similar sized RGGB filters.
The RYYB camera outperforms almost all larger RGGB consumer drone cameras in low light environments.
The rotating video imagery is a function of the camera gimbal.
It is not a software function.
