Westwood AI is pleased to present an overview of the R.O.N.I.N project, which introduces a forward-thinking, adaptable approach to evolving Technological capabilities. The primary objective of this initiative is to harness existing technologies and hardware to establish a scalable platform. This iterative platform will facilitate cost-effective, adaptable, and multi-domain systems that meet specific customer requirements without compromising reliability.
We have had various customer focused applications and needs of n autonomous drone application built for a specific purpose and all have had similar base technical needs. Consequently, our proposal involves leveraging established 3D mapping LiDAR software and affordable sensor technologies (such as cameras, LiDAR, thermal sensors, etc.) coupled with Object Detecting Machine Learning software. This amalgamation enables automated multi-domain deployment of drones across aerial, terrestrial, and aquatic domains with an assortment of sensors and cargo configurations to meet specific customer needs.
Our initiative also emphasizes adaptability, allowing for customer-specific customization within the Drone hub. Depending on the end user’s mission requirements, drones can be equipped with a diverse array of sensors (e.g., cameras, thermal sensors) and payloads (e.g., medical supplies, food provisions) pending the specific mission that we aim to accomplish. Due to the variety and multitude of drones which would be enabled in the Hubs, various cargo can also be attributed to drones to meet a specific need to often deliver lifesaving equipment in contested environments.
Outside of the technological advancements and robust capabilities for the end user, RONIN is an industry solution as a cultural shift allowing for smaller more specific innovations to answer mission needs. By enabling Hubs to be re-supplied with various new sensors and cargo, our focus is to demonstrate how the RONIN program adapts with the customer in parallel to emerging operational needs that are faced down range. This enables our systems to focus on the mission requirements which dictate the technology applications for platforms and payloads, not the other way around.
Not to be confused with a drone company, RONIN is a capability rather than a platform. Our solution offers an iterative approach to mission planning, operations, and agile customer evolution. Westwood AI further offers forward-thinking solutions with the integration of emerging technology, advanced algorithms, and meshed systems to provide the warfighter options during the fog of war. By providing a cost-effective capability that is diverse to meet full-spectrum mission solutions through adaptable employment configurations, we can ensure a long term strategic success for our customers.
