NEW Radiomaster Bandit series and a historical analysis and comparison of other legendary long range fpv modules. Bandit is a 915mhz 1W ELRS module series. We take a look and project what may be the future of long range fpv. Will I finally be switching over to ELRS fulltime? We will see. Video by Justin Davis of Drone Camps RC.

  1. Just 2 years flying and all I have used is CRSF. I haven't been able to send it more than 2km away because the video signal(Air Unit at 1200mw) gets laggy. What do you guys use for digital Long range?

  2. i enjoyed your review and yes it is something new but the crossfire from tbs it is old like a dinosaur but still rock solid and reliable and smaller shape and more consistent in connectivity and more easily to use in tbs ecosystem with fussion and unify so … for wings tbs crossfire it is still the best … and i have up to 2 w of power

  3. Not sure if I am stupid but what exactly is the difference between the bandit and the hacked radiomaster ranger going on 2W
If hacked is the radiomaster ranger still stronger in terms of long range fixed wing?
In regards of penetration and resistance to frequency clutter above cities?

  4. I have had the TBS Crossfire with the Nano RX's and like 2 Micros RX's and I have 2.4ghz ELRS now as well with a Module. I think the setup on ELRS is pretty easy with the Wifi updating and binding, but still definitely not as easy as just pressing a Bind button on the TBS stuff..
I havent been super impressed with the new ELRS so far, except for how well it does on like a 1s Tinywhoop with the tiny ceramic antenna, but you could do the same with the tiny Nano RX as long as there's an open port.
Im still undecided if im going to stop using Crossfire, ill probably end up using both. Maybe these newer 900mhz ELRS modules will change things and it seems like it already has but i guess we'll see how it works out in different environments and how the durability is on the TX side and the RX side.

  5. At this point I dont know why everyone isnt using ELRS, its cheap, available in tons of combinations that mostly all work together, simple to setup, never drops and gives absurdly long ranges even in 2.4. Its all I'll be using unless something better comes along

  6. Awesome info Justin and I’m digging this format for covering stuff 👍 Related to this, I hear all the time putting the antenna on the back of a long range quad but in my very unscientific testing front mount is substantially better. With the antenna at the back when you turn back towards yourself you put the entire quad and huge battery (if top mounted) between you and the antenna but at the front the antenna is always clear. What do you think?

  7. If VTX is the limiting factor , and the undisputed HD king is DJI o3 , at least for long range, I get that some tx gimbals are better than others, but for pure range and penetration, DJI o3 is best HD system. right ?

  8. I use only Crossfire, on all my 20 something rigs. I'll stay with them, because of the quality, reliability and support… Crsf is super easy to update and manage. Consistency is key.

Thousands of flight hours in sketchy and dangerous conditions… and not a SINGLE failsafe.

    I will never switch.

  9. hell no crossfire not dead, ball tf up on reality. Are you going to change 30 of my crossfire quadcopters over to bandturd elrs for what benefit ? Cause i certainly am not, and the 2 10in quads ill order soon im pretty sure will have crossfire diversity on them . Where is bandit diversity at ? F radiomaster. Nothing beats the gimbals on x20s frsky remote.
