'Russian drone' strikes Ukrainian capital Kyiv, 'killing at least one'

A ‘Russian drone’ strikes Ukrainian capital Kyiv, ‘killing at least one’, according to reports.

An official building and two residential buildings were damaged in an attack carried out with four drones, the Sumy regional administration said on Telegram the messaging app.

Video obtained by Reuters showed an object flying low over Sumy’s city centre and going down, after which an explosion could be heard, closely followed by a second explosion.

Reuters was able to confirm the location as the trees, buildings, and rooftop structures matched street view imagery.

Kyiv’s military had earlier on Monday reported shooting down 13 of 17 Iranian-made Shahed drones launched by Moscow overnight in a separate attack on several parts of the country.
