Israel has denied deliberately targeting children and civilians in Gaza.

A British NHS surgeon who worked in Gaza told MPs last week he treated children “day after day after day” who had been “deliberately targeted” by Israeli drones following bomb attacks.

Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, told Sky News the claim was a “lie”.

It comes after the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for PM Benjamin Netanyahu and defence minister Yoav Gallant, saying they were criminally responsible for acts including murder, persecution and starvation as a weapon of war as part of a “widespread and systematic attack against the civilian population of Gaza”.
