Introducing Flyability Inspector 3.0 (BEST SOFTWARE FOR DRONE INSPECTIONS?)
Inspector 3.0 is software used alongside Elios drones made by Flyability, allowing inspectors to easily analyze and pinpoint the location of defects discovered during inspections.
Although drones are efficient tools for inspections of high risk structures, a practical challenge had been that it could be difficult to locate the position of inspection photos on the actual structures that were inspected. (Lots of good inspection photos, but not sure where they are located on an actual asset!)
With Inspector 3.0, inspectors can use the photos from the drone to quickly make a 3D point cloud model, showing the drone’s position and exactly where the photos are taken in that model, in order to help inspectors easily locate where their observations and defects are within an asset.
Locational data is a crucial part of the maintenance process. Observing a defect and putting it into an inspection report is one thing; but when the maintenance work must be done, it is important to know exactly where that photo was captured, in order to make repairs at the correct location!
