Eyewitness videos captured a large explosion in Russia’s Tver region during the early hours of Wednesday (September 18).
The videos, posted to social media, showed the explosion and billowing smoke cloud on the horizon in Toropets.
Reuters was able to confirm the location from the position and shape of buildings, trees and lake that match satellite imagery and street view imagery. The Governor of Tver region posted on Telegram at 3:31 am local time that efforts was underway to localize the fire.
