यूपी के मेरठ के परीक्षितगढ़ थाना क्षेत्र के गांव पूठी में ड्रोन की दहशत के चलते पहरा दे रहे रोहित (16) की गांव के ही युवक मयंक ने तमंचे से कमर में गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी। हत्या का कारण पांच दिन पहले दोनों के बीच हुई कहासुनी बताई गई है। मृतक की मां बबीता ने मयंक के खिलाफ हत्या की नामजद रिपोर्ट दर्ज कराई है। परीक्षितगढ़ पुलिस ने रात में ही हत्यारोपी मयंक को गिरफ्तार कर तमंचा बरामद किया। मंगलवार को उसे कोर्ट में पेश करके जेल भेज दिया। दरअसल परीक्षितगढ़ थाना क्षेत्र में बीते करीब एक महीने से रात में आसमान में ड्रोन उड़ाए जा रहे हैं। ड्रोन को लेकर क्षेत्र के गांवों में युवा व ग्रामीण टोलियां बनाकर पहरा दे रहे हैं। जबकि पुलिस प्रशासनिक अधिकारी स्पष्ट कर चुके हैं कि ड्रोन नदी के सर्वे के लिए उड़ाए जा रहे हैं।
In the village of Puthi, under the jurisdiction of Parikshitgarh police station in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a 16-year-old boy named Rohit was shot dead in the waist by a local youth, Mayank, amid ongoing fear caused by drone sightings. The two had reportedly had an argument five days prior, which is believed to be the motive behind the murder. Rohit’s mother, Babita, has filed a named FIR against Mayank for the killing. Parikshitgarh police arrested Mayank the same night and recovered the country-made pistol used in the crime. On Tuesday, he was produced in court and sent to jail. For the past month, drones have been spotted flying at night in the Parikshitgarh area. Due to this, villagers—especially the youth—have formed patrol groups to guard their neighborhoods. However, police and administrative officials have clarified that the drones are being flown for river survey purposes.
