Poland says it shot down Russian drones in its airspace
Poland says it has taken down several Russian drones that entered its airspace on Wednesday, the first time a NATO member is known to have fired shots since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. Prime Minister Donald Tusk told parliament there were 19 intrusions into Polish airspace overnight and that he had activated Article 4 of NATO’s treaty, under which alliance members can demand consultations with their allies.
