California fires: Blowtorch-wielding man tackled by neighbors | LiveNOW from FOX
A group of Los Angeles residents confronted and apprehended a man they believe may be an arsonist responsible for setting one of multiple wildfires in Southern California, video shows. Residents of the Woodland Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles helped police to stop and detain a man with a blowtorch on Thursday, suspecting him of arson as the Kenneth Fire burned nearby.
Chris Sumner captured the footage, which shows the man being confronted, as the residents said the blowtorch-wielding man was trying to set old Christmas trees and garbage cans on fire. The man was escorted from the scene by LAPD, confirming he was charged with a probation violation but not with starting the fires.
Dr. Jeffrey Lindsey, the fire and emergency services director, senior lecturer at the University of Florida and a retired fire chief, joined LiveNOW from FOX’s Josh Breslow to discuss that video and other aspects of the wildfires in the LA area.
