In the issue of using UAVs at the front, the Russian army is significantly inferior to the Ukrainian one, claims Russian Z-patriot, Donetsk collaborator Yuriy Yevich. He spoke about this in an interview with the wife of the Chekist Igor Strelkov-Girkin.
Yevich was very impressed by the number and quality of drones used by the Ukrainian army.
” The enemy has an update: the work of drones has reached a completely new level. They now have thousands of these drones lying around in boxes like dirt. Literally! The question of saving UAVs is basically out of the question for them… They spend up to 5 attack drones per infantryman and 15-20 on each unit of our equipment. They have an international project. The whole world is churning out drones for them, the whole world is sending them money. And what about us? Volunteers somewhere bought something at an exorbitant price in China… I will not say what the state is doing. Hugging and crying is not the word! ” – said the Z-patriot. He also complained about the poor intelligence and communications of the Russian occupation army. ” We need to exchange information. Ukrainian Defense Forces have all this set up in real time between units. And for us, in 2022, as well as now, little has changed. We are sitting, they are shooting at us from the landing, we tell the command: “There is an enemy there.” – “No, there are our own.” – A week passes, it turns out that there is an enemy there !” – Yevich said.
Ukrainian drones continue to play a crucial role in deterring the advance of Russia’s mechanized army. They could prove decisive in the liberation of occupied territory during counteroffensive operations by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The ISW follows an interview with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Ukrainian media on November 16, in which the president noted that Russian troops are advancing along the frontline, partly due to a decline in Ukrainian morale, which is exacerbated by delays in staffing and equipping new Ukrainian brigades, as well as the need for adequate rest and rotation for Ukrainian defenders on the front lines.
Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of forming new brigades to replace and reinforce the Ukrainian forces currently stationed on the front. At the same time, he mentioned that Russian forces continue to suffer significant casualties in exchange for minimal territorial gains. According to the president’s estimates, Russian troops are losing between 1,500 and 2,000 soldiers per day in Ukraine. He stated that the enemy cannot maintain their pace of advance while sustaining such heavy losses. During the interview, Zelenskyy pointed out that the Russian offensive had already slowed in some directions. Ukrainian officials had previously noted that Ukrainian drones played a role in slowing the Russian advance to a walking pace.
