Amazon Manager Fired:

Second Story:

Third Story:

We’ll start this week with a former Amazon Manager, who claims he was fired for raising concerns about the drone delivery program.
The man, Cheddi Skette, says there was no onboarding process for new employees working on the drone project, and that he witnessed multiple crashes including one that started a brush fire.
He also said that tests were commonly conducted with partially inoperative equipment, such as laptops with broken keyboards, and less than full teams.
We also saw last year Amazon who claimed they didn’t need to tell the FAA about accidents and instead would investigate accidents themselves.
We’ll keep you updated if we learn any more about this story.

Your second story this week is a really fast FPV drone.
The old record for fastest FPV drone was set in 2017 by DRL and was 163.5 mph.
This new record shatters the old one, at 224 mph.
You can see the video here playing in the background, and while it doesn’t look like much, the drone actually tops out at about 235 MPH.
The record is the average of the two runs back and forth.
And yes, part 107 limits drones speed to 100mph limit but that regulation is waivable. We couldn’t verify if a waiver was approved for this flight.

Your third and final story this week is a short but good one!
A fire department in Washington state used a thermal drone to locate a disabled boat in Liberty Bay.
The boat experienced a mechanical failure and were luckily able to call for help.
This is yet another great example of how drones can be used for good!

That’s it! Don’t forget to like and subscribe, have a great weekend and we’ll see you next week!
